1. What are cookies

2. How we use cookies

elizwane.org uses cookies for two purposes:

Functional / security — remembering your cookie choice, keeping the Website secure. These are always active.
Analytics and advertising measurement — Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, delivered via Google Tag Manager. These are only activated after you click Accept in the banner.

3. Google Consent Mode v2

The default settings depend on where you are.

EEA, the UK and Switzerland — by default we set all Google storage flags to denied:

functionality_storage — granted
security_storage — granted

In this state, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads still receive privacy-safe cookieless signals (with ads_data_redaction=true and url_passthrough=true) so that campaign measurement continues to work, but no advertising or analytics cookies are set on your device. When you click Accept, all four flags are updated to granted and cookies may be written.

All other regions — all flags are set to granted by default, so analytics and advertising cookies may be written when the page loads. You can opt out at any time in the cookie banner: open Settings, switch off analytics and/or advertising and click Save choice; the corresponding flags are then updated to denied.
